A wide variety of entertainment will take place throughout the event within the Castle Grounds, Chapel and Long Dining Room as well in the Town itself. Please see the attached PDF for the entertainment timetable.

Confirmed entertainers are:
Adam Zair: Organist / Pianist

Local musician Adam will perform in within the castle.
In the chapel he will perform an organ recital of modern hymns from Kevin Mayhew and McCrimmons along with light classical music from Pachelbel and other classical composes
Adam will also be performing pieces from "west end shows " as well as popular classics from Richard Clayderman, other artists and all time favourites on the Steinway Grand Piano in the Throne room, which will be transformed into a luxury tea / and refreshments dinning area during the day of the food festival.
Venera Bojkova: Harpist

Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, and studied at the State Conservatoire of Music, became pianist in residence in the Northern Province of South Africa.
As well as performing throughout UK, Venera has performed throughout Europe, Russia, South Africa and the USA.
The Sandra Welsh School of Dance
The Sandra Welsh School of Dance’ proudly celebrated its 25th anniversary last year.
Having just located to its new studio, in the shadows of the Auckland Castle Clock Tower, the school is proud to be associated with the Bishop Auckland Food Festival 2011.
The Coventry Cycle

Originally purchased from Messrs. Haynes & Jefferies on 1 July, 1878, the ‘Coventry Cycle’ (pictured here) will be seen along with other historic cycles in the streets of the Market Place on the day of the food festival.
Durham Rams

Formed in the early 1960’s, the Rams perform traditional English North Eastern Rapper and Cotswold Morris dances.
Spennymoor Town Band

The band is a fourth section band and will perform during the day in the Chapel
Newton Aycliffe Pipe and Drum Band

Newton Aycliffe Pipe and Drum Band have performed since 1961, when Pipe Major William Brown foundered the band
Brian Llewellyn: Punch and Judy

The Punch and Judy Show is great Family entertainment with 2 shows throughout the day
C.A.T.S Youth Theatre Group

Come along and meet C.A.T.S at the food festival today. C.A.T.S will be singing all your favourite songs about food. C.A.T.S is for all young people aged 8-11 years who like to sing, dance, act and have fun C.A.T.S perform two musical productions per year. Visit www.cats-theatre.co.uk for more information
Durham and Tees Valley Area Military Vehicle Trust

A display of bygone items from the early 40’s and the War including: foods, memorabilia, rations and original clothing and uniforms worn by members of the MVT (in the food marquee) as well as a superb collection of lovingly restored military vehicles on display in the castle grounds http://www.dtvamvt.co.uk
Andrew Rowbotham

Andrew is head chef and owner of the successful Riverside Restaurant in Barnard Castle. In this special demonstration for the Bishop Auckland Food Festival Andrew will be working together with master butcher James Wright. They will be giving an exciting demonstration and taking the audience on a culinary journey titled “Pork to Fork, Back to Front”
James Burton

James is an expert forager and chef with a wealth of experience in delivering exciting demonstrations. James will be bringing home grown ingredients and combining them with exhibitors produce to create some stunning and delicious dishes.
Austen Shaw

Austen is a freelance chef in the North of England spent over 10 years as the head chef at Headlam Hall. Austen has a great passion for sourcing local produce and will be demonstrating a three course meal using local ingredients with a modern twist.
